Great going! Hope it catches on.
This would defenitely be a useful forum. Thanks and congratulations for this initiative.
i am from 3rd Integrated course (41NDA and 3rd NAVAC).
It was great to know that our Indian Navy has started a Blog for veterans. Bravo Zulu. I am an attitudinal trainer interacting with various organizations Govt/Psu and private. The culture in the Navy is the best and i am proud of it. Those seving must keep in mind every day, because they can not get, what they are getting in Navy. i have worked in an interservice org. Indian Navy does any thing before any other. Thanks
I thank DESA for the good initiative. I wish all success to the forum. Regards.
A welcome step to integrate the veterans with current affairs of the NAVY.
I have been looking for a site like this for a long time. It will be a good platform for the Veterans to share their views and information. Congratulations.
Thanks. It is a good initiative. I wish it all success.
Thanks, Hope this will enable the Ex-Servicemen community in resolving their day to day difficulties.
This is indeed a good work of DESA.
Congratulations on this initiative which am sure will provide a fast means for dissemination of information. BZ to DESA.
Would it be possible for us (or at least to those who want) to get a copy of the ‘Quarterdeck’ magazine on an annual basis? I am aware that it is available on the naval website in the electronic form, but then a magazine in hand is worth two in the computer! Besides, it will make a nice value addition to our small collection of books at home. To offset costs, maybe one could even pay some kind of subscription for it. I will be certainly willing to!
Great initiative & congratulations.
Well done Kumar. It is a step in the right direction. Now we all can get information about DESA much faster.BZ
It is a nice start where all veterans can interact and get to latest happenings. Thanks a lot for the initiative. Navy is as usual well known for keeping pace with technology is continuing the
tradition.
Good to know that DESA under Cmde MVS KUMAR has come up with this blog. well done!!!!
I could see lot of happenings in last few months. DESA News letter 1/2011 was published in almost all Veteran Blogs/mails and had excellent publicity amongst the entire AF Veteran Community across the country .Now DESA Blog is in the net and I am sure that through this Blog we will be able to gather many useful information. .I would like to congratulate the leadership and hope that DESA would further help the Veterans to resolve their problems in many areas.
DESA pro active initiative is well appreciated.
Best Wishes
Dear Cmde MVS Kumar,

The DESA Blog is timely initiative, helping to keep all Naval Personnel and particularly those that have retired, in constant touch with what is happening in the Indian Navy, apart from receiving information on matters of interest to retired personnel.
This is a very important avenue that has now opened out, as for long, most of the Naval Veterans, rarely heard or knew about the progress being made, in making the Indian Navy a Blue Water Force, capable of projecting the Seapower of the Nation. Well done and keep up the good work. Congratulations!
This is a very good forum and it will be very useful. Thanks to DESA for this
Thanks for this welcome step by DESA. It will keep Veterans updated with regards to changes in regulations for ECHS, INPA etc, and with fellow veterans as well as serving community. I wish all success to this forum.
Congratulations to DESA for having taken this pioneering step to keep in touch with the veterans and bring them together.
This Forum is sure to be an excellent service for all Veterans. If no one minds, I would like to make use of it as and when necessary. I presume many Army and Air Force Veterans would feel the same if they come to know of it.

Dear Sir, Looking around the Net, I find a lot is being done by the Veterans demanding One Rank One Pension (OROP), presently denied to Pre – 2006 Veterans. I do not see any involvement in it from the Navy. Either we are ill-informed, ignorant or we feel that we are getting enough and no discremination is being shown to Pre- 2006 Veterans.Could you kindly enlighten us, the latest?

Thanks for what you are doing now which is a great service for the Ex sailors.
I retired from the navy in 1977 after 12.5 years fof service. during this service saw action in 1965 and 1971 on board INS Rajput and INS Vikrant respectievely. A war veteron ??
But i do not receive any pension. Can u do something to fight this unjustice ? A politician or his staff can get pension after 2 years or 3 years of service. A man who fought for the country receives nothing. No ECHS, No pension.
nothing more to add. wish you all success.

I am EX-MCMECH(R) from sub-marine arms, presently I am a heart patient and I am under treatment of ECHS, but unfortunately I don’t get all the medicines from the ECHS clinic prescribed by Medical Officer. So I have to buy the non-available medicines from the Medical shop as I can not skip the intake of the medicines. Secondly it is not possible for a patient those who are staying in long distance to go to ECHS clinic every now and then to collect the medicines .
So I requested ECHS to consider to grant the re-imbersement of the amount for the medicines, purchase from medical shop. I request to all of you to support me for this suggestion.
Thanks and regards to all.
dear maitra,
presently govt regulations permit for emergency hospitalisation reimbursement only. not for medicines. oic poly clinic authirised for emegency purchase of medicine up to 30, 000 per month. other wise echs clinic /mh can only give medicines. even cghs scheme also follows same guide line. govt is considering of outsourcing medicines where medical shop will be next poly clinic. but yet to start .
