ECHS Facilities for Emergency Cases. A large number of Veterans are paying from their pocket to private hospitals for their medical bill due to emergency treatment such as accident, cardiac arrest etc.

Nine Month Compulsory Service. A compulsory service of nine month for the pension in the rank may be removed as it is nowhere in civil or other wing of Defence. This bars many veterans to get pension benefit.

Withdrawal of Money from PNB CABS Branch. A guide line may be issued on withdrawal of more than 4 crores money which is lying in CABS PNB Branch in the veterans’ dormant account.

Issue of Dependent Card to Dependents of Veterans to Avail Discount Offered by Pvt Airlines to Retired Armed Forces Personnel. Based on the availability of seats, private airlines are offering discount of upto 50% in the base fare. However, dependents are not issued with I–Cards by competent authority. Issue be taken up for issue of dependent cards to family members of retired sailors which would help them in availing benefits

VSF Magazine/ Compendium of Policy Letters. Presently no VSF Magazine/ Compendium of policy letters are being published for distribution. The same should be done on annual basis.

Navy Calendar 2018. It is well known that preparation of these calendars is likely to start shortly. These will be distributed to all concerned. It is desired that in the forthcoming GBM, one calendar of 2018 may be given to each veteran attending meeting.

Veteran Family Function. Veteran’s families should also be given opportunity to re-collect their memories when they were there in naval family quarters and enjoyed the Naval atmosphere. Suitable function with the families of the veterans be organized at Delhi.

ENDORSING AADHAR CARD NO ON REFFERALS

Aadhar Card is required to generate referral to empanelled hospitals by the Polyclinic. All ESM are to carry Aadhar Card along with ECHS Card (if Aadhar Card number not already endorsed at ECHS polyclinic)

vide Central Organisation letter No. B/49779-Ousoursing /AG/ECHS dated 20 Sep 17.

Subject – Enhancement in the rate of Special Pension to Blinded Ex-servicemen under AO 606/75

Sir,

In supersession of government of India , Ministry of Defense letter No. 12-SB(8)/52-2001/958/D(Res) dated 16th Nov 2001, I am directed to convey the sanction of the President to enhance the Special Pension to blinded Ex-Service from Rs 500/- p.m. to Rs 4000/- per month with effect from June, 2017. The expenditure will be debited to relevant Head of account of Defence Service Estimates.

2. The sanction is issued with the concurrence of Ministry of Defence (Fin/Pen) vide their ID No 10(12)/2016-FIN/PEN dated 05/06/2017.

Dear VSF Members,
Notice is hereby given that the 9Th Annual General Body Meeting of the Veteran Sailors Forum will be held on 15Th Oct 17 at 0930 Hrs at Rajhans Auditorium Gomantak, Goa to transact the following business:-
1. To approve and confirm the minutes of the 8Th Annual General Body Meeting held on 25th Sep 16 at Kochi.
2. To receive, consider and adopt the Profit and Loss Account for the Financial Year ended on 31St Mar 17 and the Balance Sheet as on that date and the report of Auditors thereon.
3. Program:-
  1. Opening of the meeting – Opening remarks by President VSF.
