Dear Sir, It feels very sad to hear the news of INS Godavari gating decommissioned. I Narendra Sawant, Ex CHME was key commissioning crew and have served onboard for eight long years from October 1983 to April 1991. There are many memories attached to that period like Operation Cactus, world cruse etc. I want to be part of the function on 23rd December and have written a mail on the given ID. I am yet to receive reply for the same.
Hope this invitation is for all and not only for men in service. Eagerly awaiting the details.

Sir, It is very sad to hear the news of decommissioning of INS Godavari. I was Key Commissioning Crew from Engineering. I served on board INS Godavari from October 1983 to April 1991. I was part of operation Cactus in Maldives in 1988. Also had a chance to go around the world in 1984, 86 & 88 trips. Lots of memories attached with the Ship and wish to attend the function on 23rd December and have wrote a mail on the given mail ID. I am yet to receive any reply. Is the Invitation for all ex Godavarians or only for men presently in service. I would like to know more about this. Narendra Sawant, Ex CHME.

Sir, I fell deeply saddened to hear the news of decommissioning of INS Godavari. I was the Commissioning Shipwright Artificer. I was transferred to INS Angre in the year 1981 for Yard 516 (Godavari) which was being built in MDL. We had a great team of officers and sailors . The Designate CO Capt. Pestonji and EXO Cdr RAMESH Bhandari were really very great officers and under their command the ship used to be the First in all the Command activities. I really wish to salute them from my heart even today. I served on board this ship from 1981 to 1987, from SWA3 To MCSWA-II. JAI GODAVARI, JAI HIND.

You must make an effort to be part of the decommissioning also. It will be definitely a great experience to associate with both commissioning and decommissioning. Very few get to have this opportunity
