Suspension / Cancellation of ECHS Membership

8 Sep

Many ECHS members are re-employed in govt services and are therefore members of the healthcare schemes provided by the govt service. Such personnel are required to suspend / cancel their ECHS membership through their polyclinics.

The ECHS Membership fee is non-refundable.

The Govt Order on the subject is available here.

    Respected sir
with due respect I submit that govt letter quoted by you in this regard is not a Govt of India letter. Moreover it is using the word “voluntary”. So it is requested to quote authenticated govt of India letter which can be challenged in Court of Law.

The letter is issued by Central Organisation, ECHS which is the administrative authority for ECHS under Govt of India. You may please download the same letter from Dept of Ex-Servicemen Welfare website, if you require more authenticated source.

Necessary instructions have also been issued by ECHS to the polyclinics not to extend the facilities to members who are re-employed in govt service. Therefore, the letter states ‘voluntary’ because the ECHS members are expected to act on their own may to choose refrain from drawing similar benefits from two govt agencies.
